Motivated by the philosophy underpinning our adopted curriculum models, we view the school as community in which all stakeholders (teachers, staff, learners and parents) play key roles in supporting the learning and well-being of our children. Therefore, we target transparent and clear communication and regular interaction with parents and encourage their participation in school life and activities.
We sustain our interaction with parents through various means, including regular parent-teacher meetings, progressive meetings for struggling students and parental participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular events. We forge strong partnerships with parents through parental volunteering in school activities and regular liaison with parent-teacher association representatives. In addition to implementing an open door policy, we also encourage parental participation in curriculum orientation days as well as walkthroughs and classroom observations. Deploying multiple communication channels and leveraging the power of technology, we make sure that we remain connected to our parents through newsletters, school Facebook page and website, WhatsApp groups, SMS portal and mobile app. Such a 360 degree approach to parent-school partnership is aimed at using clear communication and regular interaction with key stakeholders with an eye to forging a strong community that supports and benefits our learners. We consider parents as key partners in education. They influence their children’s attitudes about learning, and they support learning at home. They are a vital link between home and school. We strongly believe that when they become involved in the life of the school, they make our schools better places to learn, grow and thrive.
